Scott Johnson: founder/session leader
1.Scott is a cattle rancher from Tulare County and enjoys pack trips to the high sierras, mules, diesel trucks, and a good steak.
- I always wanted to be a pirate, but I get sea sick. So I decided to be a cowboy.
- I would be a mule. Because they are smart, tough and strong.
- My hero would be the cartoon character “Droopy” the dog. Because he is always there for every situation.
Thanks, Scott
Aaron Ernst: Director/session leader
Hi my name is Aaron I have the amazing job as the director here at crown valley my passions are to long to list but a few are; God, family, wood working, backpacking and dirtbike riding. Ive been involved with youth since being a youth. Nothing is more rewarding then seeing a young person understand God, commit to Christ and serve His kingdom. What is most amazing about this process is how God does it in so many amazing ways. I'm never board in exploring God with a young person.
When I was growing up I always wanted to be a marine biologist, that was before i saw the movie JAWS. 🙁
If I could be any animal it would be a wolf. They are survivors and travel in packs.
My super hero is Batman!!!!!!! He is the real deal. No super power just smart and wealthy:)
Hope to see you all soon ,
Aaron
Dee Dee Johnson: co founder/treasure
1.Dee-Dee has a financial background in bookkeeping and banking. She enjoys being a part of leadership bringing with her the experience of over eight years in a board position with her local church. Dee-Dee enjoys hospitality, photography, DIY projects, organizing, missions, and of course her furry four legged friends.
- I always wanted to be a writer.
- My animal would be an eagle. So I could swoop down and attack my prey from above.
- My super hero would have to be wonder women!
Hailey Stambach: Horticulture Coordinator/session leader
- Hi friends! I’m Hailey and I grew up here in the Central Valley. I attended Cedarville University where I earned my bachelors in Social Work and minored in biblical studies. I joined the team here at CVYR in 2016 and I am beyond excited to use my gifts, abilities, and degree in this ministry. Kids are my passion.
While I get the privilege of being a full time Session Leader I also get the privilege of being the Horticulture Coordinator. The garden is one of my favorite places to be besides the horses! Our garden is going to consist of 50 to 60 4’x4’ square garden boxes. We are using the square foot gardening method to teach horticulture. Kids will have the opportunity to plant and take care of their own garden box. Included with the horticulture program will be a chicken coop, wormery, and a section for learning about compost. I also have plans to teach kids how to use the food they grow by canning, preserving, and cooking.
- A duck, they can fly, swim, and float. If they don’t make a good pet, they taste great!
- If I couldn’t be a cowgirl I wanted to be a dentist. I must have been out of my mind, mouths are gross.
- Elmo.
Jazmine Gilcrest: Creativity coordinator/session leader
My name is Jazmine Gilcrest and I am 20 years old. My main goal in life, now and forever, is following the Lord’s will alone, and solely walking by faith and not by sight. In brief, I attend Parkside Chapel in Visalia, CA, will be getting married in June, and I’m also a horse mom. Right now, my favorite bible verse is Philippians 1:27. I have a crazily mixed family, and the chaos throughout the years has unveiled many avenues to love and to be loved! I am also a full-time student at COS, praying about the path/major in which to continue regarding my education. One of my most favorite roles, (second only to becoming a future wife), is being a full-time staff here at Crown Valley Youth Ranch. Currently, I am funding all of my support as a missionary. My roles here at CVYR are all ones I love, which mainly include being a Session Leader and the Coordinator of Creativity. As a Session Leader, I am blessed to be able to build meaningful relationships with these kids and teens within a Christ-centered atmosphere. I have always loved kids and teens, and have been involved in youth, missions, and camp as a volunteer, leader, and counselor, respectively. Any opportunity I get to encourage, uplift, share hope, and empower, is an opportunity that I always strive to take in all areas of my life. Furthermore, as the Coordinator of Creativity at CVYR, I basically do all the fun stuff. I get to keep the Arts & Crafts room organized, cleaned, and stocked, along with preparing bi-weekly activities for our kids in the program. I also get to create signs and help decorate the ranch, always striving to make everything aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Long story short, the Lord has blessed me beyond belief, and I don’t deserve any of it. Praise Him!
- Definitely a Pegasus. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a horse with wings? I could fly everywhere and be majestic, both of which I am unfamiliar.
- I wanted to grow up to be an architect. I’m good at math, I love drawing and being creative, and the occupation would fund my expensive hobby of being a horse mom. However, my dream job is exactly what I’m doing here at CVYR, as a kid I just didn’t think a job like this even existed!
- Wonder Woman and Super Girl, but only as an unconventional duo.
Lacey Patrick: media coordinator/session intern
My name is Lacey Patrick and I was born and raised just near Elderwood, Ca.. I'm currently a senior in high school, so I am an intern at CVYR.
If I could be any animal it would be a dog because dogs are always happy, loving, and don't have a care in the world.
When I was growing up I always dreamt of being a farmer or a florist, even though I didn't know much about plants. For some reason it just caught my interest.
My favorite hero is Batman, only because he has no superpowers but yet can find the ability to help others. It's only his strength that gets him by.
Sylvia Amaral: Public relations/session intern
- Sylvia Amaral, Communication Specialist volunteer. Communicate with the public through contact via phone, email, or in person to share in the wonderful mission of Crown Valley Youth Ranch and encourage them to visit and join us through Prayer, volunteering, sponsorship or as they feel called.
- If you could be any animal what is it and why? A horse-as a young girl I always dreamed of horses. When I read the Book hope Rising, I was inspired by the little girl who wrote ‘Thank you for giving me wings so I can fly’. God perfectly created horses, they have a sixth sense to relate to hurting people and they are man’s helper, perfectly shaped for us to ride.
- When you where a child what did you want to grow up to be? A Nurse so I can help others in their time of need.
- Favorite super hero? Wonder Woman.
