Position Opening: – Ranch Director – CVYR
Crown Valley Youth Ranch is a non-profit, Christian youth ministry ranch located in Woodlake, California, in the foothills of the Sierra
Nevada Mountain range. We are a horse rescue ranch but more so, Crown Valley is a place where children find healing and hope through caring
mentorship, compassion, and discipleship.
CVYR serves a broad base of children, ages 6 to 18, with a wide range of challenges including special needs kids, at risk youth, children of hardships, and just kids trying to find their way through life. CVYR students meet regularly, one on one, with a carefully selected mentor for 90-minute sessions. These sessions are divided into council time, chore time, and a host of selected activities including horsemanship, small animal care, crafts, gardening, fishing, wood working, and various life and survival skills. We are a donation-based ministry and as such, all services are offered free of charge.
The CVYR Ranch
Director is responsible for the overall supervision and operation of the ministry. The Director oversees all staff at CVYR and reports directly to the Crown Valley board of directors. The Ranch Director position requires strong leadership and managerial skills, creative vision, and an ability to represent CVYR in all areas of outreach, fundraising, and public relations. Our unwavering mission at Crown Valley is to share the Gospel of Christ with the students and families that God brings to our campus. As such, the Ranch Director must compassionately possess the desire to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and have the fortitude, patience, and compassion to share the love of Christ to best reach and disciple CVYR children and their families.
The Crown Valley Ranch Director manages nearly all aspects of the ministry including:
- Responsible for all aspects of CVYR marketing, public relations,
fundraising, public presentations, and community outreach. The Ranch
Director must confidently and competently represent CVYR to local
churches, businesses, community organizations and clubs and actively
seek out support financially and in recruiting volunteers for the
program. - Coordinates with staff for event planning and
management including outreach efforts, fundraising events, and volunteer
or family gatherings. - Coordinates with the Program Coordinator
to procure curriculum, recruit, train, and provide support to mentors,
assess applications, schedule sessions and program events. - Property management – Oversight of ranch and building maintenance, repair, growth, compliance, and safety.
- Operating budget creation and fiscal management of approved budget.
- Report to the CVYR board on a regular basis to communicate ministry status, goals progress, opportunities and concerns.
- Animal oversight and care. Supervision of all creature care on the ranch.
Position Requirements:
- Proven ability in making ministry connections, raising financial support, and recruiting volunteers and staff.
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead.
- Minimum of 5 years service or employment in Christian ministry.
- Ability to create and maintain budget and basic financial documents.
- Very strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Experience with ranch animals is a plus but not required.
- College degree preferred but not mandatory
This is a full-time position on location in Woodlake, CA.
Salary – DOE
