What to expect
-- As a ranch hand --
Our lives tell a story.
They dive much deeper than what we see as we scroll through social media. The way we live and what we prioritize speaks volumes, but can we be honest here? We tend to display the things in our lives that we are most excited about, the things that make life special. It’s definitely okay to focus on the positives in life, but we tend to hide the crabby parts.
No one is exempt. We will always, I mean always, have the crabby parts of life.
Some of the kids who walk through our doors at CVYR display the crabby parts of life because that’s the only pool of experiences they can pull from.
Here at Crown Valley Youth Ranch, the work we do prioritizes the development of young lives. The majority of these young lives have been through really tough times – some have endured our worst fears. We desire to build Crown Valley Youth Ranch into something that makes life special, something for a young life to look forward to. Many times, they don’t necessarily look forward to the Ranch, but the people in it. We pray that this holy ground and the people involved reflect the beauty and glory of our God and His love for us.
Whether you mentor a beloved child, organize a craft room or pull weeds, it is guaranteed to make an impact on a life. Yet in the midst of going about in our service to others, we are surprised when God brings us to our knees because really, He’s impacting us too.
If someone were to be a fly on the wall, watching us all day long, what would they see? What would be apparent in our lives? What are our true priorities? As a Ranch Hand at CVYR, you are guaranteed to be a part of building an eternal story that is worth telling.
